A dad says he ended up 'cooked' like the chicken strips he was frying after his clothing suddenly caught fire in a freak accident while he was making dinner, resulting in third degree burns. Mike Manning, from Menifee in California had been cooking leftover chicken breasts for his family's dinner on Thursday, May 2nd when his shirt went up in flames. And after undergoing surgery to dress the burns, the former casino worker underwent a skin graft where skin was removed from his right thigh to help heal his injuries. Mike said: 'I took one of the strips out [of the pan] to cut it in half to see if it was cooked and then somehow it seems like I slipped forward [towards the counter]. 'I couldn't figure out what had happened at first as I had only used a couple of teaspoons of oil and the pan was still on the stove.
'My wife came in and told me not to touch my arm. I didn't know what she meant as at this point I didn't know I had burned myself. 'My shirt went into the flames. I fell to the floor when this happened. It [the fire] started at the bottom of my shirt and came up to below my armpit. 'The doctor said my shirt was like a bamboo material and langit69 slot said this was pretty flammable.
